이는 축구선수라고 별반 다르지 않다. 물론 본업인 훈련과 경기에 매진 하는게 가장 중요 하지만 나머지 시간에 자신만의 활동을 즐기는 것 또한 미덕이 된 시대다. 게다가 적당한 휴식이 경기력에 더 좋은 영향을 미친다는 것은 두말하면 잔소리. 여기 축구와는 동떨어진 이색 취미를 가진 K리거들을 소개한다.

울산 김도훈 감독의 취미는 서예다. 선수 시절 ‘폭격기’라 불리던 별명을 생각하면 다소 의외의 모습이다. 지인에 권유에 따라 우연히 시작했던 것이 이미 햇수로 10년이 다 됐다. 최근에는 바빠서 자주 못 하지만, 지난 2014년 참여했던 서예휘호대회에서 본인의 작품이 특선에 당선됐을 정도로 준수한 실력을 갖췄다. 평소 축구라는 다소 거친 운동을 하다 보니 정적인 서예를 통해 심신을 정리한다고. 참고로 김도훈 감독의 호는 그라운드에서 마음껏 펼치라는 뜻에서 ‘청야(靑野)’라고 한다.

▲인천 마하지 : 놀면 뭐하니? 못하는걸 못하는 마하지!

작년 여름부터 인천의 유니폼을 입게 된 호주 출신 마하지는 주변에서 독특하다는 평을 듣는다. 축구 외적으로 여러 분야에 관심도 많고 제법 잘하는 것도 많기 때문이다. 먼저 마하지는 사이버 대학 과정을 통해 심리학을 공부 중이다. 정확한 학위 과정은 ‘Bachelor of psychological science’이며, 훈련 후 틈틈이 개인 시간을 활용해 공부한다고 한다. 또한 기타 연주에 일가견이 있는 마하지는 개인 유튜브 채널을 통해 본인의 자작곡을 올리기도 한다. 당연히 연주도, 노래도 본인이 한다.

얼마 전 구단에서 공개한 ‘2020시즌 부산 유니폼 프리오더 기간 판매 랭킹’에서 단연 1위를 차지한 부산 이동준은 젊은 세대답게 SNS를 통해 팬들과 꾸준한 소통을 한다. 특히 커피를 좋아해 다양한 카페를 방문 하는게 취미인 그는 부산 지역의 여러 카페를 다니며 인증샷을 남기고 팬들에게 추천하기도 한다. 대단한 취미는 아니더라도 고단한 훈련 끝에 마음이 맞는 선수들과 커피를 마시며 스트레스를 푸는 이른바 이동준만의 ‘소확행(소소하지만 확실한 행복)’이다.

Ulsan director Kim Do-hoon's hobby is calligraphy. Considering the nickname "bomber" when he was a player, it seems somewhat unexpected. It's already been almost 10 years since I started by accident at the invitation of an acquaintance. Although he is too busy to do so often, he has been able to do so well that he won a special prize in the calligraphy contest he participated in in in in 2014. Since he usually does some rough sports like soccer, he organizes his mind and body through static calligraphy. For your information, director Kim Do-hoon's pen name is "Cheongya," meaning "do as much as you want on the ground as you want."

The Australian Mahaji, who has been wearing Incheon's uniform since last summer, is said to be unique. Outside of soccer, he has a lot of interest in various fields and is pretty good at many things. First, Mahaji is studying psychology through a cyber university course. The exact degree course is called the "Bachelor of psichological science" and is said to take advantage of his personal time after training. Mahaji, who has an eye for guitar playing, also uploads his own songs through his personal YouTube channel. Of course he plays and sings himself.

Other areas of interest include podcasts when he was playing in Australia, or cooking and fashion. It is clear that he is as versatile as he is on the ground.

Busan's Lee Dong-joon, who was the undisputed No. 1 player in the "2020 season Busan Uniform Preorder Period Sales Rankings" unveiled by the club not too long ago, communicates with fans steadily through SNS, just like the younger generation. Especially, his hobby is to visit various cafes because he likes coffee, so he goes to many cafes in Busan and leaves a proof shot and recommends it to his fans. It is not a great hobby, but it is "small but certain happiness" of Lee Dong-jun, who relieves stress by drinking coffee with players who are in tune with him after hard training.
